About the role

Matachica Resort on Ambergris Caye is known for luxury experiences against the backdrop of the Belize Barrier Reef. Its Mambo Restaurant was awarded BTB Restaurant of the Year 2023, and it is seeking a skilled Breakfast & Lunch Cook to join the culinary team. The shift runs 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.: breakfast service, then straight into lunch. The ideal candidate is an experienced cook who thrives in a fast-paced, high-end environment, with strong knowledge of breakfast cuisine, at least 2 years of experience, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dishes while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Prepare high-quality dishes, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation
Work your station on the breakfast line, then carry it through lunch service
Handle prep and mise en place for your station, with a prep cook alongside
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards
Work closely with the kitchen team to meet guest requests

Requirements

2 years of experience as a breakfast or line cook
Strong understanding of breakfast dishes and cooking techniques
Valid food safety and sanitation knowledge
Reliable for a 6:00 a.m. start
Flexibility in scheduling and excellent communication skills
