About the role
CRNCY Group is hiring a Corporate Accountant in Belize City to handle day-to-day accounting for the group's central and non-operating companies and keep transactions between group companies accurate. The role runs month-end close for its assigned companies, prepares the invoices and cash transfers between them, and supports the Director of Finance on regulatory, central bank, tax and statutory reporting. It also moves the remaining companies to accrual accounting, separates restricted funds and cleans up the records ahead of group consolidation and an external audit.
Responsibilities
- Run the full accounting cycle for assigned companies, including CRNCY Management LLC, CRNCY Capital Inc., Acuity Holdings Ltd, CRNCY (KY) Limited and CRNCY (LC) Limited
- Own and enforce the group close calendar, and prepare standalone reporting packages and elimination schedules with audit-ready support and written procedures
- Invoice recurring charges between group companies under the relevant agreements, tag every such entry and confirm the other company books the matching entry
- Agree balances between group companies as a hard close step, reconcile them monthly, produce an aged list of differences and keep the register of agreements
- Run the group dividend chain: calculations, distributable reserves, approvals, withholding and both sides of each entry
- Prepare funding requests and transfer instructions for the Director of Finance's approval, record both sides of every transfer and keep the transfer log (the role has no authority to initiate or approve payments)
- Run the US GAAP group consolidation, including eliminations, currency translation and reconciliations
- Move cash-basis companies to accrual accounting, separate restricted and third-party funds, clean up the chart of accounts and maintain transfer-pricing documentation
- Keep the compliance calendar and filing archive, and prepare data for central bank and regulatory returns (including the MLR), tax and statutory filings and withholding tax calculations
- Act as the day-to-day contact for advisors, auditors and registered agents
- Support the NetSuite migration (about 20% of time during implementation), administer the Group Expense Management Policy and support internal and external audits
- Other duties as assigned
