About the role

The Development Finance Corporation (DFC), Belize's development bank, is hiring a temporary Relationship Officer in Belize City. The Relationship Officer assists the Branch Manager in keeping the Corporation financially viable by providing efficient, high-quality service through development loans, mainly student and MSE loans, in line with the Credit Policy Manual. The role also helps market DFC's products and services.

Responsibilities

Interview potential clients to determine whether they qualify as borrowers, promoting sound loans within the guidelines
Take part in Loans Committee meetings and advise clients of decisions
Help gather and validate information for credit analysis and the credit (appraisal) report
Prepare Letters of Loan Offer informing clients that their loan has been approved
Authorise the opening of loan accounts, review and complete the pre-disbursement checklist, and recommend disbursements

Requirements

Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Valid driver's licence
Strong initiative; results-oriented, analytical and self-motivated
Excellent planning and organisation skills
Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and ethical behaviour
