Security Officer
About the role
Port of Belize Ltd is hiring a full-time Security Officer in Belize City to protect port property, assets, staff and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Patrol the pier, transit sheds, compounds, offices and low berth
- Control entry and exit points
- Monitor cargo from ship to delivery
- Make bank deposits
- Operate within the port’s surveillance system and security manual
- Apply ISPS Code security knowledge, including threat recognition, weapons detection, crowd control, security equipment and search methods
Requirements
- High school diploma
- 3 years of experience as a security officer
- Valid driver’s license
- Computer literate
- Knowledge of relevant laws, public safety and security procedures
- Able to work independently, punctual and available on call
- Good communication and reporting skills
