Senior IT Systems Administrator & Team Lead Remote: Open to global talent Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time. Shifts may be adjusted for 24-hour coverage. We are recruiting for a managed IT services provider supporting schools and business clients in the United States. About the role Lead technical support operations and complex infrastructure environments. Serve as the senior escalation point for L3 issues while mentoring the support team and maintaining service quality. Responsibilities - Supervise and mentor L1/L2 support technicians and manage ticket queues and escalations. - Resolve complex Windows, cloud infrastructure, and network issues. - Administer Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure environments, domain policies, and core network configurations. - Oversee TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, routing, Wi-Fi, and VoIP systems. - Maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions, including Veeam or Backup Exec. - Develop documentation, operating procedures, and escalation playbooks. - Communicate with clients and ensure service-level commitments are met. Qualifications - Seven or more years in IT systems administration and infrastructure support; MSP experience strongly preferred. - Two or more years of formal or informal technical leadership experience. - Advanced Windows Server 2016+, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Azure AD administration skills. - Strong enterprise networking and L3 escalation experience. - Excellent written and spoken English for team leadership and client communication. - Reliable high-speed internet with backup power and connectivity. Nice to have Microsoft or networking certifications, Linux and Asterisk experience, Cisco/HP/Fortinet equipment expertise, and multi-site or education-sector support experience.
