Tour Guide / Captain
About the role
Matachica Resort is seeking a skilled and friendly Captain to lead water tours for Matachica Tours, manage boat operations and look after guests on the water. The role suits an experienced captain with a passion for hospitality, adventure and the waters of Belize.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain resort boats for guest transportation and guided water tours
- Pick up and drop off guests by water and land as needed
- Run errands in town for the administrative and front desk teams
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed and the boat is in top condition
- Provide guests with knowledge about Belize's marine life and local environment
- Deliver hospitality that makes guests feel welcomed and engaged
Requirements
- Valid Captain's License and Belize Tour Guide License (both required)
- Experience in boat operations, maintenance and guest services
- Strong knowledge of Belize's waters, marine life and local attractions
- A friendly, outgoing personality with a passion for hospitality
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing schedules
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
