About the role

Aero Dispatch Services Limited is looking for a Wheelchair Agent to assist passengers who need wheelchair assistance at the airport.

Responsibilities

Greet and escort passengers in a friendly and courteous manner
Assist and transport passengers requiring wheelchair assistance at the airport to and from the gate
Read the appropriate paperwork to identify name, flight information, date and special service request so passengers are taken to the correct destination
Assist passengers in transporting and claiming personal belongings and baggage
Read the airport monitors to check arriving and departing information and set up at the gate for incoming passengers who need special assistance
Gather wheelchairs in the concourse and return them to the staging area for usage
Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with passengers, co-workers, supervisors and managers
Comply with all safety, security, compliance and quality standards and procedures established by the company, clients and regulatory authorities
Perform other duties as assigned

High school diploma
May be required to stand and walk for the majority of the work shift
May be required to lift and/or push up to 75 pounds or more for the majority of the work shift
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals, and handbooks
Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances
Able to follow and give directions and be an effective team member
High attention to detail
Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures
Ability to maintain composure with authorities, clients, staff and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations
