About the role

WE ARE HIRING! FOOD & BEVERAGE TEAM LEAD Join the Shaka Caye Private Island Resort Team! We are seeking a motivated, organized, and service-driven Food & Beverage Team Lead to help oversee daily food and beverage operations while ensuring exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader who can motivate a team, maintain high service standards, and ensure smooth coordination between the restaurant, bar, kitchen, and other resort departments. ROLE OVERVIEW The Food & Beverage Team Lead supports the daily operations of the food and beverage department, supervises service staff, monitors service quality, and ensures guests receive friendly, professional, and efficient service.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, motivate, and coordinate food and beverage staff.
  • Oversee restaurant, bar, and dining operations.
  • Assign duties and monitor staff performance.
  • Ensure excellent guest service and handle complaints professionally.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and service standards.
  • Monitor food presentation, beverage quality, inventory, and stock levels.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen and other departments on guest requests and events.
  • Train and support team members.
  • Prepare shift reports and assist with special events and resort activities.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to stay and work on the island with flexibility to adjust to occupancy levels during peak seasons.
  • Experience in food and beverage service; leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations, food safety, and sanitation.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional, dependable, honest, and team-oriented.
  • Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have a clean police record.

Preferred qualifications

  • Additional Assets:
  • Relevant hospitality training or certifications.
  • Knowledge of cocktails, wine, spirits, and beverage preparation for bartending applicants.
  • Experience with formal dining, table setting, and food presentation for serving applicants.
  • Experience providing personalized guest assistance and anticipating guest needs for butler applicants.
  • Candidates who demonstrate a willingness to learn, reliability, professionalism, and a passion for hospitality are encouraged to apply.
