About the role

The U.S. Mission in Belize is hiring a Chauffeur for the General Services office of the U.S. Embassy in Belmopan. This is a full-time (40 hours per week), permanent position. The vacancy is open until filled. Applications are reviewed from September 22, 2026, then every two weeks. Announcement number: Belmopan-2026-17.

Responsibilities

Drive an unarmored U.S. government-owned or leased vehicle to transport passengers and cargo safely and efficiently
Work as a messenger as directed
Keep the vehicle clean and serviceable, inside and out
Prepare trip reports and vehicle use and fuel logs
Estimate fuel consumption for trips

Requirements

Completion of high school
At least three years of professional driving experience
Good working knowledge of English (speaking, reading and writing); this may be tested
Valid driver's licence, held for at least five years
Must be 25 years or older, under the Embassy's driver safety policy
Must be able to obtain a security certificate and pass a background investigation; a pre-employment medical exam may be required
