Chief Engineering, Agriculture
About the role
Belize Sugar Industries is hiring a Chief Engineering, Agriculture to plan and oversee land conditioning and preparation for sugarcane, civil works, field hydraulic infrastructure and access roads, and the expansion of irrigation.
Responsibilities
- Oversee roads, irrigation and drainage on company fields and AgGrowPro growers' land
- Track engineering key performance indicators
- Design and validate irrigation systems
- Assess culverts, box structures and other civil works
- Make sure the department has the materials it needs
- Give technical support to the Director of Agriculture, Agriculture Managers, the Head of GIS and cane suppliers
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Agricultural, Civil or Irrigation Engineering
- 5 or more years in agriculture or agricultural engineering, including sugarcane field-infrastructure experience
- Experience with land levelling and RTK survey tools
- Microsoft Office and engineering, survey or GIS tools
- Strong communication and teamwork
Preferred qualifications
- MSc in a related field
