Conservation Ranger

About the role

Monkey Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is looking for a motivated, hard-working and dependable Conservation Ranger. Previous conservation or ranger experience is not required, and training will be provided to the right candidate. Individuals from the buffer communities (La Democracia, Mahogany Heights, Franks Eddy, St. Matthews and Cotton Tree) are encouraged to apply. If you enjoy working outdoors, working with your hands, learning practical skills and contributing to the protection of Belize's natural resources, you are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Willing to remain on base for 5 to 10 day shifts
  • Motivated and willing to learn
  • Hard worker and comfortable with physically demanding work
  • Practical and good with their hands
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in field conditions
  • Able to work well as part of a team
  • Responsible, dependable and willing to follow instructions
  • Minimum education: primary school

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with physical, outdoor, construction, farming, landscaping, mechanical or similar hands-on work (an asset, not required)
