Facilities Handyman (South)
About the role
Digi is seeking a Facilities Handyman for the South, with duty station in Punta Gorda and coverage of all southern sites. The role sits in the Finance Division. The Facilities Handyman keeps Digi's physical infrastructure, including power, cooling and facility systems, running safely and efficiently around the clock through inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs, and supports disaster response.
Responsibilities
- Carry out corrective and preventive maintenance plans for facilities and infrastructure (Mobile Sites, Exchange Buildings and Office Buildings), including carpentry, plumbing, painting, sheetrock, ceiling and metal works and fences, with basic electrical, cooling and mechanical work
- Do general handyman work at those sites: windows, walls, doors, locks, bathrooms, furniture, ceilings, fences, roofing and drainage
- Help maintain and clean generator rooms and facility compounds
- Coordinate contractors for building, plumbing and fence upgrades and repairs, and for debris removal
- Respond to facility issues and escalate major faults
Requirements
- Associate's degree or a relevant technical skilled certification
- At least 2 years' experience in facilities or technical operations
- Safety compliance; physically fit and able to use common hand and power tools
- Willing to work beyond normal hours and travel within Belize
- Basic knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Focused, results-oriented and energetic, with a strong sense of urgency
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
