Process Apprentice
About the role
The Process Apprentice receives structured on-the-job training in the Processing Department, covering clarification, evaporation, crystallization, centrifugation, sugar drying and conditioning, and packaging.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior operators and the Shift Process Supervisor with daily processing equipment and systems, including clarifiers, evaporators, crystallizers and centrifuges
- Monitor plant equipment performance and record process parameters such as temperature, pressure and flow rates
- Learn and follow the standard operating procedures for each stage of the process
- Support process adjustments to maintain product quality and operational efficiency
- Take part in regular training on process control, safety and quality assurance
- Carry out other tasks assigned by the Supervisor
Requirements
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel)
- Excellent record keeping
- Highly motivated and team-oriented, with good interpersonal skills
- Willing to work in an industrial milling environment with heat, noise and rotating shifts
- Strong willingness to learn, follow instructions and develop technical skills
