About the role

Belize Sugar Industries is hiring a Quality Assurance Technician at Tower Hill, Orange Walk. The technician supports the site's quality and food-safety systems, including document and record control, corrective and preventive actions, certification support, quality investigations and reporting, and reports to the Quality Assurance Superintendent.

Responsibilities

Review product and process quality results and escalate deviations
Lead the daily operations review with the Production Superintendent
Maintain the SQF/GFSI, HACCP, GMP and traceability programmes
Run document and record control
Keep quality, audit and nonconformance records, follow up corrective actions and escalate significant or overdue issues
Deliver GMP, HACCP and food-safety training and keep training records
Carry out GMP inspections and support calibration, pest control and supplier documentation

Requirements

BSc in food science or technology, chemistry, microbiology or a related field, or equivalent experience
At least 1 year of quality assurance or food-safety experience, plus 2 years in manufacturing
Experience with a GFSI food-safety system; SQF Practitioner certification held or obtainable soon after hire
Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive action, auditing and ISO 9001/SQF
Microsoft Office and basic statistics skills
Leadership and communication skills

Experience in sugar or food processing
