About the role

Tropic Air is hiring a Ramp Agent for its San Pedro station. The ramp team handles passenger luggage, marshals aircraft, positions the aircraft stairs and batteries, assists with boarding and deplaning, and moves mail bags and cargo to storage. The role reports to the Station Manager.

Responsibilities

Marshal aircraft
Load and unload bags, cargo and mail safely and on time
Sort baggage and cargo for the Cargo Agents
Connect, disconnect and store the auxiliary power unit or battery
Place and remove the aircraft stairs
Write lost and found reports and help locate misplaced luggage
Follow safety procedures and airline policies

Requirements

High school diploma
At least 1 year of recent relevant work experience
Safety-conscious, detail-oriented and assertive
Able to work shifts and under time pressure, in heat, rain and cold
Dependable, with good spoken and written English

Preferred qualifications

Associate's degree
2 or more years in customer service or a related field
