About the role

Moore Belize LLP is looking for an experienced Senior Compliance Officer with a background in AML/CFT/CPF and corporate services to join its team in Belize City. The role supports both the firm's internal compliance function and the AML services it provides to clients, including client due diligence, AML/CFT/CPF policies and procedures, and advisory work. It also develops and maintains compliance manuals and regulatory documents.

Responsibilities

Conduct due diligence, screening and verification of clients and entities
Review corporate structures and ownership to identify key stakeholders and beneficial owners
Prepare client risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures
Maintain client and compliance records
Help develop and improve compliance policies and procedures
Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact
Prepare compliance reports, risk assessments and supporting documents
Support compliance reviews, audits and regulatory examinations
Assist with compliance training and staff awareness
Liaise with clients, regulators and other stakeholders

Requirements

3 to 5 years of AML/CFT compliance experience, ideally in financial services, corporate services or another regulated industry
Strong knowledge of AML/CFT/CPF requirements and international best practice, including the MLTPA, the Belize Companies Act and FSC guidance
Bachelor's degree in law, finance, business, accounting or a related field
Experience with client due diligence, KYC and risk assessment
Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Able to work independently and manage multiple client engagements

Preferred qualifications

ACAMS/CAMS or an equivalent certification
