Statistician II – Economic Statistics
About the role
The Statistical Institute of Belize is hiring a Statistician II for its Economic Statistics Department. This is a one-year temporary post based in Belmopan, reporting to the Statistician I.
Responsibilities
- Document concepts and methods in line with international standards and evaluate data sources
- Help design economic surveys
- Maintain the economic indicators database and the statistical business register
- Analyse economic statistics, write technical reports and present data to the public
- Train staff, write quarterly reports and represent the Institute
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in applied statistics, economics, mathematics or a related field
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, Access, SPSS and other statistical software
