About the role

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is hiring a part-time Store Clerk Lead for its store on Wood Street in Belize City. The Lead Clerk supports the store supervisor, or leads a small store without an on-site supervisor, and helps customers make informed product decisions. The posting states that the person in this role must be endowed and hold a current temple recommend.

Responsibilities

Direct store operations for a small store, or support the store supervisor.
Assign and direct the work of staff, and provide training, feedback, and coaching.
Help prepare weekly schedules and daily tasks.
Greet customers, answer product questions, and provide high-quality service.
Operate the point-of-sale terminal, process returns, and open and close the register.
Oversee displays, inventory receiving and counts, and replenishment.
Work as scheduled, including Saturdays and holidays.

Requirements

Post-secondary education in business, retail, merchandising, or a related field, and two years of experience in business, retail, or customer service, including managing teams, or an equivalent combination.
Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Proficient with point-of-sale systems and able to troubleshoot basic technical issues.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to lead, delegate, and handle difficult issues.
Must be endowed and hold a current temple recommend.
Able to stand for long periods, bend, and lift.

Preferred qualifications

Previous experience leading others in a retail setting.
