Supervisor, AgGrowPro Farms
About the role
Belize Sugar Industries Limited (part of ASR Group) is hiring a Supervisor for AgGrowPro Farms at Tower Hill, Orange Walk. The Supervisor coordinates and supervises daily land preparation, planting, cultivation and pest control in sugarcane fields, following plans set by the AgGrowPro Farm Manager and the Director of Agriculture. The role also helps with yield estimates, assigns and monitors field staff, and supports other departments.
Responsibilities
- Carry out all agricultural practices on time in the assigned area to raise TSA and TCA yields within budget
- Plan and prepare sugarcane fields on time for planting, and maintain the assigned areas
- Keep time records of employees' daily working hours
- Prepare reports on services provided to farmers' fields
- Prepare weekly service plans for farmers' fields
- Run field trials, soil fertility improvement and pest control
- Help test new farming techniques and varieties to improve productivity and sustainability
Requirements
- At least a Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, applied agriculture or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in agriculture
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Awareness of industry trends, technology and developments
- Ability to collaborate across departments
- Team player with a strong record of honesty and integrity
- Strong observation skills and attention to detail
